On the afternoon of Tuesday 27th February, 2024, a pivotal meeting took place at the Embassy of Nigeria, organized by the Krirk International Affairs Office. The purpose of this assembly was to explore opportunities for academic cooperation and to present scholarship opportunities tailored for Nigerian students, highlighting Krirk University’s rich cultural diversity and international ethos.
The Krirk delegation, comprising Prof. Dr. Jaran Maluleem, Vice President of International Affairs; Miss Chanidapha Nunualvuttiwong, Director of International Affairs; and Miss Virasinee Luevisadpaibul, Embassy Coordination Officer, presented a united front in showcasing the university’s international academic environment. The Nigerian representatives were H.E. Mr. Mohammed Haidara, Charge d’Affaires, and Ms. Sonari M. Uraih, Counsellor.
During the meeting, Miss Chanidapha Nunualvuttiwong took the lead in introducing Krirk University, emphasizing its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community. The university’s effort in bringing in students from Nigeria was particularly underscored, demonstrating Krirk’s dedication to ensuring a multicultural learning atmosphere that impressed the Nigerian Embassy representatives. This initiative was not only about providing educational opportunities but was also reflective of Krirk’s vision to create a microcosm of the global society on its campus, thereby enriching the educational experience for all students.
Prof. Dr. Jaran Maluleem contributed to the narrative by discussing the International Islamic College Bangkok (IICB) and Krirk’s membership in the Association of Islamic Universities Association (AIUA). His remarks highlighted the university’s holistic approach to education, where cultural understanding and respect for diversity are considered as cornerstones for academic and personal growth.
Miss Virasinee Luevisadpaibul played a key role in the meeting’s logistic execution and facilitated the exchange of ideas, ensuring the smooth progression of discussions and the effective communication of Krirk’s academic proposals.
The Nigerian Embassy representatives, H.E. Mr. Mohammed Haidara and Ms. Sonari M. Uraih, acknowledged Krirk University’s efforts in promoting diversity and were particularly impressed with the proactive steps taken to integrate Nigerian students into the university community. The potential for collaboration and the scholarship opportunities proposed by Krirk University were met with enthusiasm, and the representatives expressed their interest in deepening the educational ties between Nigeria and Thailand.
The meeting concluded with the affirmation of both parties to pursue the proposed academic cooperation initiatives.
