On December 6, 2023, a notable event in the realm of international academic collaboration was held at the InterContinental Bangkok Hotel. This event, titled ‘The Forum for Non-Saudi Higher Education Graduates in the Kingdom of Thailand’, signified a pivotal moment in the educational exchange between Thailand and Saudi Arabia. Professor Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, the distinguished President of Krirk University, was a key participant, invited by Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Alsuhaibani, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Thailand.
This forum marked the first significant cooperative venture in the educational sphere between the two nations following the restoration of their bilateral relations. The primary focus of this gathering was to explore and deepen the educational collaboration between Thai and Saudi Arabian universities. The dialogue centered around strategies to enhance this cooperation, thereby enriching the academic landscapes of both countries.
A highlight of the event was the contribution of the presidents from three esteemed Saudi universities: Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Islamic University of Madinah, and Ummul Qura University. These academicians delivered special lectures, providing invaluable insights and perspectives, thereby adding depth to the academic discourse of the forum.
Additionally, the event featured an exhibition where various universities, including Krirk University, set up booths. These booths served as informational hubs, offering insights into the academic offerings and opportunities at each institution. Krirk University’s participation in this exhibition underscored its commitment to expanding its international presence and academic influence.
The Bangkok Islamic International College also played a significant role in this event. Their booth, dedicated to imparting knowledge about Islam, garnered substantial interest. This aspect of the forum facilitated a deeper understanding of Islamic traditions and practices among attendees, highlighting the importance of cultural exchange in academic environments.
