On September 2, 2024 at 10.00 a.m., at the International Academic Conference Room, Office of International Affairs, Krirk University, we welcomed representatives from the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Deputy Director-General, Mr. Halim Waenalai, Counselor, Mr. Muhammad Affa Madting, Diplomat, Mr. Chot Sangthong, Third Secretary, Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar, Senegal, and representatives of universities from African countries under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), led by Prof. Dr. Abdul Mpaata Kaziba, Vice President, Finance and Administration, Islamic University in Uganda, Dr. Nakyinsige Khadijah, Senior Lecturer and Manager of Halal Testing Laboratory, Islamic University in Uganda, Dr. Mahamat Ali Issaka, Vice President, King Faisal University, Republic of Chad, Mr. Youssouf Abdou, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs, Islamic University of Niger Mr. Yachaou Mamane, Food Safety Officer, Islamic University of Niger, Dr. Oumar Moustapha Mahamat, Director of Research and Cooperation.
From the Krirk University led by Professor Dr. Jaran Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. Sarawut Laesan, Vice Dean Management, International Relations Department of the International Islamic College Bangkok, Dr. John Christopher Walsh, Associate Dean and Director of English Language Program, Dr. Chanidapha Nunualvuttiwong, Director of the Office of International Affairs, along with faculty, staff, officers and students joined in giving a warm welcome to the delegation.
This courtesy visit to the executives of Krirk University is one of the projects to promote interaction under the cooperation between the Department of South Asia, Middle East, and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to push for concrete cooperation with countries in the African region under the concept of Thai – African Initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It aims to promote cooperation between academic institutions and university executives in Thailand and African countries, as well as to showcase Thailand’s potential and readiness to become an educational center of the ASEAN region.
Krirk University gave a warm welcome with both Thai dance performance and singing for the delegation to enjoy. In addition, the executives of Krirk University presented a summary presentation of the university’s administration, with Prof.Dr. Jaran Maluleem, Dr. Chanidapha Nunualvuttiwong,
Dr. John Christopher Walsh. Meanwhile, representatives of lecturers and students from African countries shared their teaching experiences on this occasion. In addition, we were honored to have Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mpaata Kaziba, Dr. Mahamat Ali Issaka, and Mr. Youssouf Abdou give special lectures during their visit to Krirk University, which contributed to fostering relations in the dimension of educational cooperation.
The meeting between representatives of the Department of South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of universities from African countries and executives of Krirk University is a positive step toward building relationships and expanding cooperation frameworks at the international level in the African region, as well as creating a favorable image in the future.
