Krirk University Discusses Potential Partnership with TAR UMT
On January 18, 2024, Krirk University welcomed a delegation from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting, held at the university’s council meeting room, was attended by representatives from both institutions, including:
Krirk University: Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawong, President; Mr. Wang Changming, Chairman of the Executive Board; Prof. Dr. Charan Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs; Dr. Bandit Aroman, Assistant Vice President for International Affairs, Dr. John Chistopher Walsh, Associate Dean of the International College for English Programs, Professor Chanidapa Noonuanwutthiwong Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Professor Amphon Trakanrerk, Head of the Bangkok Arabic Language Center, as well as faculty members.
TAR UMT: Associate Professor Say sok kwan, Vice President for Administration and International Affairs; Professor Dr. Loke Chui Fung, Vice President for Research and Development and Commerce; Dr. Lim li li, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and Lecturer Dearna Kee June Chen, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Arts and Creative Industries.
The discussion focused on TAR UMT’s strengths in academic excellence, with a long history of producing graduates in various fields. The university’s focus on producing skilled manpower for the industrial sector and incorporating real-world challenges into its curriculum were also highlighted. Additionally, TAR UMT’s extensive network of international partners and its commitment to student and faculty exchange programs were mentioned as potential areas of collaboration with Krirk University.
Specific areas of interest for collaboration include:
Student exchange programs: Providing opportunities for students from both universities to study abroad and gain valuable international experience.
Faculty exchange programs: Fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration between faculty members of both institutions.
Joint educational programs: Developing and delivering collaborative academic programs that leverage the strengths of both universities.
Access to specialized resources: Sharing access to laboratory equipment, teaching materials, and other research facilities.

The meeting concluded with a positive outlook on the potential for future collaboration between Krirk University and TAR UMT. Both universities expressed their commitment to working together to develop mutually beneficial partnerships in the near future. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is expected to be signed soon to formalize the agreement.
