On April 4, 2025, the “THAILAND – LAOS International Education Summit 2025” was held under the theme “Shaping the Future of Global Education” in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The summit aimed to promote international educational collaboration between Thailand and Laos, as well as to foster the sustainable development of human resources in the region. This conference served as a significant platform for representatives from government agencies, educational institutions, and international organizations to exchange perspectives, build cooperative networks, and jointly shape the future direction of global education.
The event was officially opened by Ms. Jirusaya Birananda, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Royal Thai Embassy. She was joined by Professor Dr. Khamkeo Harnsana, Deputy Director General of the Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao PDR, who shared his vision for developing sustainable educational cooperation networks. The summit emphasized promoting further education opportunities for Lao students in Thailand, academic staff exchanges, and enhanced collaboration in educational research and innovation between the two countries.
Also in attendance was Mrs. Pimpida Ravirat Thanarat, Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy, along with distinguished representatives from leading educational institutions from both nations. Their participation demonstrated a shared commitment to improving the quality of education, developing human resources, and strengthening Thai-Lao relations in pursuit of a more open and sustainable global education system.
The summit was attended by representatives from prestigious schools and institutions, as well as regional airlines, including Hyper Lao, Lao-Vietnam School, Logos Institute, Vientiane High School, Soutsaka College, Phattana High School, Sinxay School, the Ministry of Higher Education, RIBA, PR Education, Lao Airlines, and among others. This diversity reflects the strong and dynamic network driving educational cooperation.
Following the conference, a Networking Lunch was organized to provide participants from both countries with the opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, and contact information, laying the foundation for future collaborative projects.
