On 24 December 2025, the International Islamic College Bangkok (IICB) of Krirk University hosted a special academic and cultural event titled “From Arabic to Mankind,” together with the official launch of a new academic program, “Arabic for Healthcare Services and Tourism Business,” in celebration of World Arabic Language Day.
The event took place at the International Academic Hall, Krirk University, and aimed to honor distinguished recipients of the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, while highlighting the growing global importance of the Arabic language in professional and international contexts.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornpan Chandranon, President of Krirk University; Prof. Dr. Charan Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs and Dean of the International Islamic College Bangkok; Dr. Thanyapitcha Ativanwong, Vice President for Marketing Communications (Thailand); Dr. Hussein Almansoori, an Arabic language lecturer from Zayed University; and Ajarn Shafee Napakorn, Honorary Advisory Chairman of the Bangkok Arabic Language Center and Imam of the Islamic Center of Thailand Foundation, together with distinguished guests, faculty members, and students from various institutions.
A highlight of the event was the honorary recognition ceremony celebrating Thai recipients of the 11th Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, namely Ajarn Arun Boonchom (Chularajmontri of Thailand), Ajarn Amnuay Phokruanjan, and Mr. Wutthiwai Wangbu.
The program also featured a special keynote lecture by Dr. Hussein Almansoori, followed by an expert panel discussion on “The Role of the Arabic Language in Healthcare Services and Tourism Business.”
The panel brought together leading professionals from the industry, including:
- Dr. Sarawut Aunsan, Chief Executive Officer, Riyadh Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Husein Moonsap, General Manager, Al Meroz Hotel Bangkok
- Dr. Wittaya Moong-in, Arabic market marketing consultant for leading private hospitals
In addition, the event officially introduced the new academic program “Arabic for Healthcare Services and Tourism Business (Arabic for Business),” designed to develop skilled Arabic-speaking professionals and expand career opportunities in fast-growing service industries. The program is scheduled to welcome its first cohort of students in Academic Year 2026.
Complementing the academic sessions, the event also showcased an exhibition of Arabic translation publications and interactive Arabic language skill–development activities, reflecting the cultural richness, professional relevance, and global influence of the Arabic language in today’s interconnected world.
This meaningful initiative underscores Krirk University’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding and strengthening its role as a leading institution connecting youth to the global stage.
