On January 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., Professor Dr. Jaran Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs at Krirk University, assigned Dr. Chanidapha Nunualvuttiwong, Assistant to the Chairman for International Education Development and Director of the Office of International Affairs, to visit Mr. Ali Saad Al-Muhannadi, Chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of Qatar in Thailand. They were accompanied by Ms. Nassreya Karimee, Secretary of the Office of International Affairs, and Mr. Muhammad Assurehe Al-Harbi, Executive Islamic Countries Representative.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and exchange ideas on the upcoming seminar titled “Sheikh Hamad Award in Thailand: The Best Arabic Text,” which will be hosted by the Bangkok Arabic Language Center at Krirk University in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; the Sheikhul Islam Office; the Central Islamic Council of Thailand; and the Office of Islamic Affairs Committee of Bangkok Metropolis. The seminar is scheduled to take place at Krirk University’s International Academic Auditorium on January 9, 2025.
Later, at 3:00 p.m., Dr. Chanidapha Nunualvuttiwong led a delegation, including Professor Dr. Hanan Al-Fayar, a faculty member at Qatar University and advisor to the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, to meet with Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East, and African Affairs. The visit involved courtesy calls and discussions on educational cooperation, translation development, and fostering cross-cultural understanding to strengthen international relations.
During the meeting, Professor Dr. Hanan Al-Fayar expressed interest in establishing a collaborative network with Thai educational institutions to support translation initiatives and cultural exchange activities. She emphasized the role of translation in enhancing mutual understanding among global communities.
Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat welcomed the prospects for cooperation and highlighted Thailand’s commitment to promoting education and international cultural relations, which significantly contribute to strengthening diplomatic ties between Thailand and Qatar.
The discussions on both parties’ commitment to supporting academic and cultural exchanges and developing projects that deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of both nations, marking a significant step in enhancing educational and cultural relations for mutual benefit.
