From January 25 to 28, 2025, Professor Dr. Jarun Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs of Krirk University, had the honor of being invited by the University of Qom, Islamic Republic of Iran, to participate in the inaugural International Conference on Islamic Education and Research.
The conference, held under the theme “Building Civilization through Islamic Education: Opportunities and Potentials for Collaboration in Islamic Sciences and Culture,” brought together representatives from 34 leading educational institutions worldwide, including those from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Senegal, Tanzania, Tunisia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, and Iraq.
The conference atmosphere was enriched by extensive exchanges of knowledge in the fields of theology, philosophy, religion, Islamic jurisprudence, studies of the Qur’an and Hadith, the role of women and Islamic lifestyles, as well as economics and law. In addition, specialized breakout sessions were organized to facilitate in-depth discussions and the sharing of experiences in the realm of educational sciences.
As a result of the conference, consensus was reached on several key agreements, including the establishment of a permanent secretariat for the conference, the creation of an international center for Islamic teaching and education to serve as a hub for future coordination across various sectors, and the concerted effort to harness media, publications, journals, and websites for tangible collaborative outcomes.
Participation in this conference marks a significant step toward enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation in the fields of Islamic sciences and culture on an international scale, while also showcasing Krirk University’s commitment to advancing its educational perspective to a global audience.
