Krirk University, led by Pornphan Jantarorananont, President of Krirk University, recently hosted a high-level strategic meeting with the Thai Logistics Industry Federation, headed by Mr. Pongsak Pibulsak, President of the Federation, together with an esteemed group of leaders and experts from across government, industry, finance, academia, and civil society.
The meeting, held at the Office of the President Conference Room, brought together distinguished participants including Mr. Pongpanu Svetarundra, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports; Dr. Atchaka Sibunruang, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry; Dr. Wimonkan Kosumas, Executive Committee Member of the Kenan Foundation Asia; Dr. Thawatchai Sairahu, Senior Executive Director at UOB Bank; Mr. Worawit Chansirirat, Acting Director of Engineering Services at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA); Lieutenant General Dr. Chaiyasit Tantayakul, Subcommittee Member on Military Affairs and Academic to the Senate Standing Committee on Military and State Security Affairs; General Iam Namchan, former Advisor to the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence; Mr. Somsak Srisuprawanich, former Chairman of the Textile Industry Group, The Federation of Thai Industries; Professor Zhang Xizhen from the Pridi Banomyong College, Thammasat University; Mr. Pichit Vivatruchiraphong, Senior Executive of Netbay Public Company Limited; and Ms. Chantima Pibulsak, President of the Wuming Tai Chi Association.
The primary objective of the meeting was to initiate formal discussions toward the establishment of a Joint Committee and the proposed Thailand–China Business and Industry Development Center. The envisioned center aims to serve as a strategic platform for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, fostering industrial collaboration, and supporting Thai enterprises seeking to expand into the Chinese market.
President Pornphan Jantarorananont emphasized that this meeting marked an important starting point in forging a collaborative framework for the Center’s establishment. She highlighted Krirk University’s strong academic and institutional networks in the People’s Republic of China, which extend across more than 25 provinces, as a key foundation for the initiative. Combined with the diverse expertise and extensive business experience of the distinguished participants, the proposed Center is expected to become a dynamic hub for advancing Thailand–China business and industrial relations.
Beyond promoting trade and investment linkages, the Center will also function as a consultative body, providing advisory services, professional training, and capacity-building programs for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and individuals interested in engaging with the Chinese market. Through this initiative, Krirk University reaffirms its role not only as an academic institution but also as a proactive driver of international economic cooperation and knowledge exchange.
