On November 4th, 2025, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) hosted the Asia-Pacific Higher Education Summit in Seoul, South Korea. This event marked one of QS’s largest higher education summits in the Asia-Pacific region. During the summit, QS released its latest 2026 Asia University Rankings. Six Thai universities secured spots within the top 150 of the QS Asia university Rankings, listed in descending order: Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Chiang Mai University, Thammasat University, Krirk University, and Kasetsart University.
QS is a global higher education research organization and one of the world’s most authoritative university rankings, featuring only top-tier institutions. The QS Asia Rankings evaluate over ten indicators, including academic reputation and teaching quality, reflecting universities’ comprehensive strength in teaching and research. All Thai universities ranked within the top 150 are prestigious institutions with long histories, receiving priority research funding from Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Among Thailand’s private institutions, only Krirk University has achieved a top-tier position within the QS Asia Rankings’ top 150 and 5th among Thai institutions.
QS stated: “Among the world’s more than 30,000 universities, securing a spot in the QS rankings is no small feat. This recognition signifies that institutions deliver high-quality education to students while also committing to academic research. Universities featured in the rankings demonstrate their pursuit of excellence. The QS rankings also serve as a guide for students, indicating that these institutions are worthy choices when planning their overseas studies.”
