The Bangkok International Islamic College of Krirk University recently led its Masarik Scholarship students to receive essential vaccinations in preparation for their service during the upcoming Hajj season. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to ensure students are fully equipped—both physically and professionally—before undertaking their responsibilities in supporting Thai pilgrims.
The program was led by Dr. Sarawut Laesan, Deputy Dean for Administration and International Affairs, who accompanied the students to receive meningococcal and influenza vaccinations. The vaccines were graciously supported by the Ministry of Public Health, with the vaccination session held at the National Islamic Affairs Administration Center. This health preparation is a crucial step prior to the students’ field training and operational duties during the Hajj period.
Beyond vaccination, the students will actively serve in facilitating and assisting Thai Hajj pilgrims. In addition, they will take on an important academic role as research assistants for the Institute of Preventive Medicine Studies under the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. Their responsibilities include collecting survey data from pilgrims scheduled to perform Hajj in 2026 (1447 AH), contributing valuable insights to support the ongoing development and improvement of Thailand’s Hajj management system.
This initiative reflects Krirk University’s commitment to integrating academic learning with meaningful community engagement. By combining health preparedness, religious service, and research collaboration, the University continues to cultivate socially responsible graduates who contribute to both national public health efforts and the sustainable advancement of Hajj affairs in Thailand.
