\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In a dedicated effort to enhance global academic collaborations, Krirk University’s administrative team and faculty, led by Professor Dr. Charan Maluleem, Vice President for International Affairs and Dean of Bangkok International Islamic College, visited the Thai Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, on March 5, 2024.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The delegation, including faculty members, engaged with Mr. Thanabadee Juthong, Charge d’Affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, discussing the pivotal role of foreign academic networks. Mr. Juthong welcomed the team, emphasizing the longstanding positive relations between the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo and Egypt, marking the 70th anniversary of Thai-Egyptian diplomatic ties.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The discussion underscored the enduring people-to-people connections, particularly Thai Muslim youth studying in Egypt. The activities at the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo, aimed at unity, educational support, fostering a pluralistic society, and providing career guidance, were highlighted.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Recognizing Egypt as a knowledge hub, the conversation emphasized the global recognition of institutions like Al-Azhar University and Cairo University. The potential for graduates to become leaders in both religious and secular fields was acknowledged.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Addressing economic ties, the delegation emphasized Thailand’s substantial trade value with Egypt, exceeding 1.3 billion baht. The Suez Special Economic Zone was identified as a promising project attracting global investors.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Professor Dr. Charan Maluleem emphasized the robust relations between Thailand and Egypt, highlighting the role of Thai graduates, especially from Al-Azhar University, in enhancing Thailand’s academic and international standing. The focus on promoting health tourism and supporting medical tourists from the Middle East was also emphasized.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Dr. Charan took the opportunity to introduce Krirk University’s diverse academic offerings, including the Bangkok International Islamic College, emphasizing language teaching and business education. The collaboration with students in Cairo, totaling over 3,500, was highlighted to enhance business potential, particularly in exporting Halal products and fostering financial development in Thailand and the Middle East.<\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Additionally, the educational programs at Bangkok Islamic International College, presented by Dr. Smith Isaw, Dr. Parinya Prayatsaap, and Professor Sarihan Khwankhawin, underscored the curriculum’s importance. The teaching method, covering both religious and general subjects, received interest from Thai students in Cairo, with scholarships from Saudi Arabia facilitating internships during the Hajj season.<\/p>
